Library Orientation for Undergraduate Students of Environmental Science and Sustainability (ESS) - Summer 2026
On June 23, 2026, ULAB Library held an orientation session for the new students of the Department of Environmental Science and Sustainability (ESS). This informative event was led by K. M. Hasan Emam, Joint Librarian at ULAB, and aimed to familiarize students with the library’s extensive resources and services.
The library team introduced the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), demonstrating how to effectively search for books, journals, and other materials available in the library. Students learned how to access library resources from anywhere, providing them with the flexibility to research and study outside of the physical library. A detailed overview of both print and digital resources was provided, highlighting essential materials relevant to environmental science and sustainability.
The session included information about academic support services, study spaces, rules and regulations, and resources available to help students succeed in their studies. To wrap up the orientation, a guided tour of the library was conducted, allowing students to familiarize themselves with various sections and available amenities.
The orientation was well-received, with students actively participating and asking insightful questions. The library team expressed their willingness to support ESS students throughout their academic journey and encouraged them to take full advantage of the library.
