On January 23, 2024, the ULAB Library conducted an informative session on citation and reference management, similarity and plagiarism checking, and search and retrieval techniques. The session was initiated by Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammed Rafi, Associate Professor, Department of English & Humanities. The session was led by K. M. Hasan Emam, Joint Librarian and it was designed to help students understand proper citation and reference management, avoid plagiarism in academic writing as well as how to search required reading resources.

During the session, Mr. Emam discussed how to use citation and reference management tool Zotero to help students properly cite their sources, and how to use similarity and plagiarism checking tool Turnitin to ensure that their work is original and free of plagiarism. Moreover, the library provided instructions on how to use search and retrieval techniques to find relevant resources quickly and efficiently.
