Library session for the students of the Research Methodology- ENG 507 - Spring 2024

On February 03, 2024, the ULAB Library conducted a library session on citation and reference management, similarity and plagiarism checking, and navigation to online resources for the students of the Research Methodology- ENG 507(01) course. Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammed Rafi, Associate Professor, Department of English & Humanities, invited the library to arrange the session. It was led by Noman Hossain from the library and was designed to help students understand proper citation and reference management, avoid plagiarism in academic writing as well as how to find available reading resources.

During the session, He demonstrated various functions of Turnitin & Zotero software, including how to avoid unintentional academic misconduct, the usage of Turnitin software, how to write effectively with the help of Turnitin Draft Coach tools, and how to manage bibliographic sources, create citations & references using Zotero. Moreover, the library provided instructions on how to search and retrieve relevant resources quickly and efficiently. The session was interactive, and participants were engaged in discussion.
