Library Session for ENG4101: Research Methodology - Fall 2025
On February 17, 2025, the ULAB Library conducted a session for students enrolled in the ENG4101: Research Methodology course, taught by the respected faculty member Arifa G. Rahman from the Department of English and Humanities. Professor Arifa invited the library team to discuss citation management, strategies to avoid plagiarism, and effective use of library online resources to assist her students in academic writing.
Kamal Hossain, Deputy librarian at ULAB, opened the session with introductory remarks, emphasizing the necessity and benefits of using Zotero and Turnitin software for research students. Abu Zafor Bhuiyan and Noman Hossain led the session, where the library team introduced students to the Zotero citation management tool, ensuring they could accurately cite and reference their sources, and provided insights on using Turnitin to maintain academic integrity. Participants also received guidance on accessing JSTOR resources effectively.
The session was well-received, and participants were encouraged to visit the library for further assistance. This initiative is part of ULAB's commitment to equipping students with the necessary tools and resources for academic success.
